NewNet CT SMserver
leverages NewNet’s core competence in developing and deploying
network-proven, telecom-hardened Signaling System 7 (SS7) and mobility access
components. The platform manages the transmission of text messages to and from
mobile handsets.
The Newnet CT SMserver
helps wireless carriers differentiate and generate new revenue from short
messaging services. Carriers can offer new services using NewNet CT’s
SMserver’s open programming interfaces and gateways to voice mail
systems, paging networks, and the Internet. Its unique, market-based service administration
feature with per-service billing support provides revenue assurance to
carriers. In addition, NewNet SMserver’s scalable, self-optimizing open
system architecture helps carriers protect their investment and minimize
operational costs.
The NewNet CT SMserver is
designed to be:
·
Powerful and Scalable. Combines
the memory and processor scalability of today's UNIX platforms with
object-oriented, kernel-resident design and development techniques to achieve
high-performance and scalability. The software can be scaled to support more
than 7 million subscribers and over 250 message delivery attempts per second on
a single node. The network interface can be scaled to support up to 32 SS7
links.
·
Cost-effective. Designed
to grow as the network grows. The pricing reflects the modular architecture and
performance scalability, and offers the greatest level of flexibility in
purchasing performance increments and additional services making it possible to
support small networks as well as large.
·
Reliable. Highly
available system designed on industry proven hardware and system software. It also provides a software monitoring
and recovery subsystem to keep the system in operation even when a catastrophic
fault occurs. In this sense, the system is “self-healing” and
recovers from faults by restarting software.
·
Easy to use and easy to maintain. With features like graphical user interfaces,
self-optimizing database engine, operational measurements, and billing record
generation, NewNet SMserver minimizes the administrative and maintenance chores
in day-to-day operation.
The NewNet CT SMserver is a robust, flexible, open architecture short messaging platform ready to deploy with value added short messaging services.
The NewNet CT’s MWI
Service Node is a robust, flexible, open architecture platform optimized for
managing the transmission of alphanumeric Message Waiting Indication messages
to subscribers of external voicemail systems. Built around client/server
architecture principles, it supports connectivity to external systems via
dedicated client modules. It accepts, stores, and manages alphanumeric messages
to be delivered to subscribers.
